Brown Sugar Kutsinta ( Cuchinta )

Here is a recipe of cuchinta without any artificial coloring. The brown color produce is from the brown sugar. Very simple to cook with very few basic ingredients. You can also make your own lye (lihia) but it is more convenient to buy it on bakery supplies or supermarkets.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lye lihia
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions
 

How to cook Brown Sugar Kutsinta:

  • Mix all ingredients together. Pour in muffin cups 1/3 full.
  • Steam for from 15 to 20 minutes or until firm.
  • Serve with grated coconut.
  • Yield: 2 dozens.
