Wheat Soup

This soup recipe is wheat soup made from fresh wheat, shallots, butter, milk and parsley. Actually this kind of soup is not very popular these days and most of the time wheat is already processed into many kinds of foodstuffs from bread, noodles, pasta and many other varieties you can think of.

To cook wheat soup; Steep the wheat over night in the water and boil it in the same water for 3 hours, add the butter, the shallots, chopped up very fine, and pepper and salt. Let the whole simmer very gently for another ½ hour, add the milk and parsley, boil the soup up once more, and serve. To see the complete recipe with lists of ingredients in exact measurements, continue reading.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 breakfast cupful of fresh wheat 250ml
  • 1 quart of water
  • ½ pint of milk
  • ½ oz. of butter
  • ½ oz. of finely chopped parsley
  • 1 oz. of shallots
  • seasoning to taste
