Guava Butter

TweetPinShareYummly

Guava butter does not have any butter in it and only contains sugar and water just like guava jam. The only difference I think is the consistency between the two. Guava butter needs to be sieved with sinamay, a indigenous hand crafted fabric made from banana plant fiber. But you can use other fine meshed sieve to make the guava pulp fine in texture.

Ingredients:

Ripe guavas
To every cup, use 1/2 cup sugar

How to make guava butter

  • Pass guava pulp through a piece of sinamay to get fine pulp. (The pulp from the guava jelly may be used.)
  • To every cup, use 1/2 cup sugar. Cook until thick. Pack, sterilize and store.
