How to Make Pastillas de Gabi (Taro Root Pastillas)

  • 2 cups young gabi boiled, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1 can 300 ml condensed milk
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar


How to make Pastillas de Gabi:

  • Blender gabi and condensed milk until smooth.
  • Cook over low heat in saucepan.
  • When thick, add confectioner's sugar.
  • Continue cooking until almost dry.
  • Transfer into butter-greased pan. Then cut into desired pieces.
  • Roll in granulated sugar.
  • Serve or wrap in colorful Japanese paper or cellophane.
