Polvoron with Pinipig

This is a variation of the plain polvoron which contain pinipig. To those not familiar with pinipig, it is a newly harvested pounded rice until it becomes flat. It is not possible to pound the rice if it is already sundried because it is already brittle. So a newly harvested rice is still soft and can be pounded to make it flat. The usual pinipig is white but sometimes you can buy them in green color and has a fragrant aroma. To make your polvoron colorful, you can use the green one.

To make polvoron with pinipig; Fry pinipig in heated cooking oil then set aside. Brown cake flour in heated skillet for about 5 to 10 minutes until light golden brown. Add powdered milk.
